"Nyack" -- Registerd with the AKC, he comes with his registration certificate. He is very used to going to the groomer and has gone regularly since he was old enough to go. He is also accustomed to being with a Pet boarder when we've had to go out of town. Nyack is a very loving dog. He enjoys snuggling up to you anywhere he is welcome. He's loves other dogs, has never shown any aggression. He is not a 'digger' and is very obedient. He has been with us since he was 8 weeks old, but sadly due to recent unemployment and life changes, we are no longer able to keep him. He loves long walks, swimming, and to be played with. He doesn't jump on people, in fact, he's sometimes hesitant around new people and will hang back around 'Mom or Dad' until he feels comfortable. He is really like another child and has such a gentle nature about him.

"Rex" -- We adopted Rex as a puppy a year ago. He was advertised as a "small border collie/mini aussie". To our surprise, he turned out to be a husky with a little shepherd and border collie thrown in. He's 50 pounds with beautiful blue eyes. He is house trained and gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is a real "people dog" and does not like to be left alone at night. He does great at the dog park and loves long walks along the arroyo.

"Togo" -- Togo is a 3-year-old Malamute mix who we adopted from the Oakland Animal Shelter a little over a year ago. The shelter thought that he will be fine with our cats, but unfortunately, he has a high prey drive and is an opportunist. He can ignore the cats for a little while when I'm right there but when the opportunity arises, he will go after them.

We have tried everything but at this point I need to admit that this situation is not sustainable, and I need to find a new home for Togo before something terrible happens - we had too many close calls and one of our cats is oblivious to the danger and walks right to him. We have done excessive training with him, even hired a professional trainer but although helpful it did not solve our problem. He has caught and killed small critters before so I believe he will do the same if he catches a cat, so he cannot be in a home with cats or other prey animals.

Other than his prey drive he is the perfect dog. Togo is GREAT with other dogs and children. He is gentle with my 6 yr. old although I wouldn't leave them unsupervised. He is still a bit mouthy but has gotten much better. We worked with him on basic commands, he walks well on a leash, only needs a few corrections, and has not shown any aggression towards other dogs (big or small) or people. He sleeps in a crate in my bedroom at night and currently spends most of the time in our large yard but comes inside. He is housetrained but I would watch him a bit - he is known to have eaten a book or two. He loves playing with our other dog (a lab mix) and can entertain himself playing ball and tossing it himself. He is not interested in jumping fences but has dug under the fence once, so I poured concrete under the fence. I trained him to respond to the beeping and vibrating of a collar (we don't use shock), so he is great off leash on our regular visits to Point Isabel.
I have not seen him get along with any other dog, so he would be a perfect second dog.

Male, 9 years old, White, Blue eyes

"Rocky" -- Rocky is an amazingly sweet boy, knows basic commands, and he loves people. He always loves to greet people on walks and when people visit our home. We’ve gone on many hikes together. Kids have kind of traumatized him, his tail and fur have been pulled and he’s been hit by things from kids, so there’s a chance he can get triggered by being around children. He shows territorial aggressive tendencies when it comes to food, treats, and toys. Over the years we’ve controlled what toys he plays with, and he eats his food and treats away from our other pets. However recently we had an incident where our yorkie was bitten by him when she was playing with a toy (however it was a toy that he has never expressed interest in and never previously had a problem with any of our other pets playing with). He’s an extremely sweet and amazing dog, and these aggressive tendencies (thanks to our control) have been very few and far between. However, with a family discussion we’ve decided that it’s going to be difficult moving forward with what happened, and as hard as it is to make this decision, we feel like we need to rehome him in a more single-pet household.

"Bella" -- Bella is a very loving and friendly dog. We have had her for the last 14 years. She is initially skittish around other dogs as she has been attacked twice by dogs off leash while we have been on walks.
She is very good with people. She is considered a red and white but, she looks brownish white to me.
She is up to date on her vac's but, will be due in July. She is spaded.
We are on a very tight timeline as we are being forced to move and were unable to find a home that would allow us to bring her with us. Heartbreaking. We are moving at the end of April.

"Korra" -- Korra is a very obedient husky. She had a surgery on both back knees (TPLO right DP, TPLO left DP), Korra is a picture of health, maintained with a regimen of joint pills, multivitamins, salmon fish oil, and prebiotics. She has recovered remarkably well from bilateral knee surgery on August 11, 2021, showing no signs of her previous surgeries. She is 8 years now and always happy. She is a very people friendly dog who loves to go out on walk. Korra, born on December 25, 2015. Korra is more than just a pet; she's a cherished part of our block, known for her stunning long eyelids and unique pupils that change color with the weather – from white to blue, gray, and even red. I've attached some photos to showcase her beauty. Korra is Seeking a New Loving Home due to I have an upcoming knee surgeries, and we find ourselves in a challenging position to provide Korra with the care she deserves as I recently retired in February 2024, However, my husband, also retired and recently experiencing knee pain, and I are no longer able to meet her physical needs. The rising costs of boarding and our frequent absences from home further complicate our ability to care for her adequately.

Keeva is very affectionate with her people, but she takes a long time to warm up to new dogs. She also has a strong prey drive, so cats and/or small dogs would not be a good combination
